Born (in 1992) and brought up in Bidasar, Churu, Shiv Kumar Soni is a figurative artist from Rajasthan. He studied visual art from Rajasthan School of Art, Jaipur. Shiv’s paintings are full of childhood treasures. Just like little playful children, these paintings carry a perfect combination of innocence and notoriety. The artist captures the various emotions, imaginations and incidents children experience with playing and living their lives. These paintings, just like Shiv’s central theme —childhood and child’s imagination— are vibrant, colourful and ingenious. His subject has a head full of hair and a mind full of dreams, where he might be moonwalking like the legendary pop star MJ in one painting, flying high in the sky, riding a kite in another and relaxing and dreaming a new dream or planning the perfect next mischief in yet another painting. With fluid brushwork and a riot of colours, Shiv fills his canvas with innocent joy and deep happiness, that will surely bring a big smile to the onlookers’ faces. He has showcased his works in numerous national and international shows. His paintings are a part of many acclaimed art collections.
