First Encounter Wrap Class

The First Encounter Wrap is a fun project for knitters who enjoy learning new techniques while creating something beautiful and practical. Over the course of 7 class sessions, you'll explore texture, eyelets, slipped stitches, cables, and twisted stitches, with each section introducing something new to keep the knitting engaging. The pattern is easy to customize—repeat sections to make a larger wrap or use DK weight yarn for a cozier version. Along the way, you'll build confidence with a variety of stitch techniques while creating a wrap you'll be proud to wear for years to come. Skills Learned: A variety of stitches to include Textured, eyelet, slipped, cables and twisted stitches How to read a pattern Blocking This class is best suited for knitters who are comfortable with knitting, purling, and following a basic pattern. Skills Needed: Basic knitting skills, including knit and purl stitches, and the ability to cast on and bind off. Other required class supplies may also be purchased at a 10% discount*. Yarn: 1,800 - 2,000 yards of worsted weight yarn, 1 - 6 colors Needle: US 8 knitting needle Other: Stitch Markers, scissors, tapestry needle Required Homework: Cast on 146 stitches Finnegan’s Run Class Policies: Our goal at Finnegan’s is to help enrich every student’s passion for knitting and crocheting by expanding skills, understanding new techniques, and creating beautiful projects. We offer small class sizes to ensure that every student gets the help they require. We want everyone to go home feeling confident and successful in the new skills learned. Required Skills Policy Please pay special attention to the prerequisites that are listed on each class sheet. Carefully read the skills that are required for each class prior to signing up. Each class is designed to teach a specific technique(s) and not necessarily the skills required to perform the technique. The dedicated class time does not account for teaching the skills on the required skills list. If you have any questions, please contact us and together we will make sure you are ready to get the most out of class. Materials Policy We are a small business and require you to purchase your class yarn from Finnegan’s Run. Class Size Policy “Learn to” Classes will run without a required class size. All other classes will have a required minimum class size. The minimum class size will be listed in the class description “Class Size.” If this class size is not met by three (3) days before the class start date we will cancel the class, notify the students, and issue a refund. Refund Policy Refunds for Prepaid Classes can only be made if we are notified at least two (2) weeks in advance of the first class date. Missed Classes will not be made up unless the Instructor is unable to teach or the shop is closed for inclement weather. No refunds for missed classes. Discount Policy Rewards and promotional discounts cannot be used on the purchase of classes, in other words it does not apply to class instruction fees.
