Georgian Swag Necklace

A Georgian flat-cut garnet swag necklace, dating to circa 1800–1820. Set in 18ct gold, the necklace is composed of three graduated swags of foil-backed flat-cut garnets in closed-back settings, with a concealed clasp creating a seamless finish. A beautiful and wearable example of early 19th-century Georgian jewellery. The necklace measures 41 cm long. There are very slight variations in the sizes of the garnets but they are approximately 10mm x 7mm in the main. Weight: 30.32 grams
