2024 'Giac Potes' Gamay Mondeuse

A wild and wonderfully savoury Savoie red Giac Potes is an equal blend of Gamay and Mondeuse grown on clay-limestone soils in the foothills of Mont Granier. The fruit was harvested by hand in crates, kept as whole bunches and macerated for five to six days before racking. Bright raspberry in colour, it opens with stewed red fruit, earthy peat and an intriguing mix of cumin, vanilla and chicory. Gamay brings juicy fruit and energy, while Mondeuse contributes spice, savoury depth and Alpine character. Light on its feet but full of personality, this is a distinctive red best served with a slight chill.
