Glass Cup
Glass tea cup collection High borosilicate glass tea cups in 4 unique designs These glass tea cups have become quite popular with our gongfu tea brewing customers. Made from high borosilicate glass, they let you watch your tea steep and see the colour develop as you pour. Each design has its own subtle texture that catches the light differently. The ribbed ones have a nice weight in hand, while the smooth wave design feels elegant. They're lightweight but solid, and the clarity really does show off your tea nicely. Product details Material: High borosilicate glass (heat-resistant, lead-free) Capacity: 40-60ml depending on design Designs: 4 styles available – ribbed vertical, smooth wave, fan-shaped, textured honeycomb Craftsmanship: High-temperature blown glass The size is good for gongfu-style brewing where you pour smaller amounts more frequently. Some of our regulars use them for tea tasting sessions, others just like having a dedicated cup for their daily solo brewing. This works well for: Gongfu tea brewing with multiple infusions Tea tasting to compare different brews side by side Appreciating the visual aspects of premium teas (especially greens, whites, and oolongs) Solo tea sessions where you want to see your tea develop About high borosilicate glass High borosilicate glass is the same material used in laboratory glassware. It handles temperature changes well – you can pour hot water straight in without worrying about cracking. It's also lead-free and won't affect the taste of your tea. The transparency is helpful for tea brewing. You can see the liquor colour clearly, which tells you a lot about how strong your tea is getting. This is especially useful with delicate teas where colour changes quickly. Care instructions Hand washing works best to keep them clear. The glass is durable, but like all glassware, handle with care. If you notice any tea stains building up (happens with heavily oxidized teas), a gentle scrub with baking soda usually does the trick. Usage tips These cups heat up with your tea, so hold them by the rim or use both hands around the sides. Some people prefer to let the tea cool slightly before drinking. The small size means your tea stays warmer for less time, which works well if you're doing multiple quick infusions. Shipping We pack glassware carefully with bubble wrap and secure packaging. These cups ship from our Hobart location. Orders within Tasmania usually arrive within 2-3 business days, mainland Australia within 5-7 business days.
