A Unique Germanium Circuit At the heart of the Luxe 66 is an extraordinary transistor pairing consisting of a 1950s Telefunken TFK OC Glass germanium transistor and a NOS Newmarket NKT12 germanium transistor. This rare combination gives the Luxe 66 a voice unlike any traditional germanium fuzz. Into a clean amplifier, the pedal delivers everything from rich germanium boost tones to light, dynamic fuzz. Unlike a conventional gain control, the Clarity knob adjusts the amplification of the transistor stage and interacts closely with the Volume control, much like the relationship between the preamp and master volume of a vintage tube amplifier. The Fuzz control functions as a tonal shaping control, allowing you to adjust the pedal's overall character without dramatically reducing the amount of fuzz available.
