The Jaws of Life is the fifth studio album from American rock band Pierce the Veil, originally released on February 10, 2023, through Fearless Records. Arriving nearly seven years after Misadventures, the album introduced a more melodic and atmospheric sound shaped by alternative rock, grunge and pop-punk influences. Produced by Paul Meany of Mutemath, the album features the singles “Pass the Nirvana,” “Emergency Contact” and “Even When I’m Not with You.” The Jaws of Life received largely positive reviews and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Hard Rock Albums chart. “Emergency Contact” later became the band’s first No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Airplay chart.
