Acer palmatum 'Versicolor' An upright, variegated Japanese maple with colorful foliage. In spring, the leaves emerge green with varying amounts of pink and white variegation. Some leaves may remain entirely green, while others can be almost completely pink. Fall color develops into shades of orange accented with yellow. This historic cultivar is especially notable for being the tree featured on the cover of the first and second editions of Japanese Maples by J. D. Vertrees.
