Dominican Republic Ramirez Estate Peaberry

This family owned estate in the Jarabacoa region of the Dominican Republic shows great care for not only their coffee, but their community at large. Their distribution partner, Cafe Kreyol, highlights that the Ramirez Estate "built and funded a new school, preventing small children from having to walk over 15 km each way to class," and have "helped many Haitians obtain legal residence in the Dominican Republic in order to receive fair wages." This commitment also extends to the environment, as they've used their profits to create sustainable gas recycling to power their farm & reduce emissions, and have invested in water filtration to prevent river contamination. This peaberry variant of the Dominican Ramirez Estate (making up only about 5% of the crop) offers the same silky texture and light body strength as the flat bean, but a whole different flavor profile. Instead of the fruitiness of the Natural Process, the peaberry is more mellow, giving you a smoother, sweeter result. Done to a Full City (light) roast, the Dominican Peaberry offers notes of cocoa and caramel and a delightfully creamy finish.
