Through extensive in-house testing, HKS identified oil temperature management as one of the key limitations during prolonged performance driving. Drawing on years of motorsport and circuit development experience, HKS created a dedicated FL5 oil cooling system that effectively suppresses oil temperature rise while maintaining overall cooling efficiency, factory aerodynamics, and vehicle balance. Purpose-Built for the FL5 Unlike traditional front-mounted oil cooler setups that can restrict airflow to the radiator, the HKS Oil Cooler Kit positions the 9-stage oil cooler core inside the left fender. This strategic placement allows efficient oil cooling without negatively impacting engine coolant temperatures or air conditioning performance. To maximise cooling effectiveness, HKS developed a large FL5-specific air duct and dedicated air guide system that actively channels fresh air directly to the oil cooler core. Extensive airflow testing also ensured heated air is discharged efficiently, reducing turbulence and maintaining consistent cooling performance. The result is a highly refined cooling package capable of handling extended high-speed and circuit driving while helping maintain stable oil and water temperatures.
