Handmade Turkish kilim Howard Chair - 309320-C

The Howard chair is a timeless, classic country house design. This chair has been covered in old Anatolian Kilim, which means it is colourful, comfortable and durable. Often, the colours in the old kilims have toned down, and the fabric has softened, making it more malleable for working. The Kilim is cut as sympathetically as possible, ensuring that the material is shown to the best advantage possible when planning the layout of the fabric on the chair. It is surprising how much Kilim is needed to cover a frame, and every bit is used up, with the leftovers being made into cushions and draught excluded. Before the Kilim is fitted to the chair, it is bonded to a secondary fabric to ensure the open areas do not expose the fillings and to make it more secure.
