DRAGON GARNET 3pcs., 2.68g Facet Rough Parcel
See photo with label for details. Three pieces of Dragon Garnet rough from Lindi Province, Tanzania, 2.68 grams total weight. Dragon Garnet is a chromium-vanadium malaya garnet — a pyrope-spessartite intermediate — discovered in the Lindi region around 2022 and confirmed by GIA as a color-change, strongly fluorescent garnet with significant rare earth element content including yttrium and erbium. The commercial name came directly from its two defining characteristics: a color shift between lighting conditions and intense red fluorescence under UV, likened to a dragon’s eyes changing color and the fire that goes with it. All three pieces are hand-selected clean rough from this deposit. The color in daylight reads in the peachy pink to purplish pink range; under UV all three light up with the vivid red fluorescence the material is known for. An alluvial source with no predictable supply and a discovery history less than four years old. Priced as a lot at $400.
