Beginning Knitting: Summer Sophie Scarf Instructor: Debora Crichton $100 for all four sessions In this beginning knitting class you will make a small, neck warming scarf, perfect for outdoors or those chilly indoor days. You will learn how to read a pattern, cast on using the long tail cast on method, knit, purl, and increase and decrease. In short, you will learn the majority of the skills needed to proceed with confidence to your next project! Please be aware that there will be homework - the fun kind! You will need to work on your scarf at home to keep up with the class. Purchase before the start of class: Sophie Scarf by PetiteKnits (purchase on Ravelry) 180 yards of a a sport or DK weight yarn (we recommend Isager Eco Baby by for a lightweight, cool summer version) US 5 circular needle 24” or longer, or size 5 double pointed needles removable stitch markers row counter tapestry needle small scissors The stitch markers, row counter, tapestry needle, and scissors will form the beginning of your knitting kit. You may also want to purchase a small container to hold your knitting supplies and a project bag (the della Q bags are amazing!!!!) to keep your project neat and tidy. Materials for the class must be purchased at The Craftivist. Students receive a 10% discount on the cost of supplies for the class.
