Jim x Anna Lansley: Death Linocut Print
1 colour linocut print on hand torn Nepalese Lokta paper Edition of 100 lino prints - numbered and signed by Jim and Anna I'd like to hope that my Paddington Death tarot design played a small but significant part in cementing the notion of Paddington Bear as a kind of psychopomp - a spectral creature who guides the recently deceased across the veil (as first evidenced by Eleanor Tomlinson's chilling and wildly popular watercolour tribute to the Queen) My tarot piece was, of course, originally drawn in Microsoft Paint but I was aiming for a lino/woodcut style to give it a feeling of old world mysticism. It has been on my mind since to collaborate with a linocut printmaker to make a limited run of hand-carved prints and, thanks to a chance encounter with the wildly talented Anna Lansley, I am proud to announce exactly that. Anna's work usually features bold, striking compositions of Britain's flora and fauna, all intricately carved and printed by hand. She was gracious enough to lend her skills to this collaboration and the result is one of my favourite things I've ever sold. Approx 10" x 14" (hand torn so sizes vary slightly) See more of Anna's work at annalansley.co.uk
