Darn It! Mending Class

Sunday, June 21 2:30-4:30 pm Instructor: Allison You love your handknit socks so much that you've worn the heel out. Or maybe you snagged your favorite sweater and the yarn broke. After you put so much time into creating these items, it's a good idea to know how to mend them when they need it. In this one-session class, Allison will show you how to mend your handknits using darning and Swiss darning methods. You'll have time in class to practice and receive help as you learn these useful techniques. Homework: Use medium-weight yarn in a medium or light color and knit a swatch at least 6" x 6" in stockinette stitch Please bring to class: Your swatch Yarn similar in size to your swatch but in a contrasting color (preferably not dark) Darning needles Small scissors Darning egg or mushroom (optional)
