c. 1930s-1940s; Carter Carburetor Corporation - St. Louis, MO Steel countertop parts cabinet produced for Carter carburetor service departments and automotive repair facilities, retaining five graduated drawers embossed "GENUINE PARTS" and "CARBURETER" across the drawer fronts. Finished in olive-drab enamel, the cabinet was designed to organize carburetor repair inventory, with compartmentalized trays housing a wide assortment of original Carter service components. Contents include cast carburetor bodies, linkage pieces, springs, hardware, gaskets, repair parts, and numerous original paper-wrapped components stored within the factory compartments. The compact stacking form allowed mechanics and parts departments to maintain organized inventories of commonly serviced Carter carburetor components at the workbench or service counter. Shows moderate to heavy workshop wear including scratches, paint loss, oxidation, staining, and handling wear throughout. Drawers retain original dividers and contain a substantial quantity of original Carter carburetor parts and related service components.
