The Artist 2022 Cabernet Dozen - EOFY 2026

This full flavoured Cabernet is blended from our Estate fruit married to fruit from local growers. Classic blackberry and cedar aromas lead to a soft fruity palate with velvety smooth dusty tannins. A special collaboration with a Melbourne based graphic artist has resulted in a beautiful label that captures the rich history of the gold rush that brought prosperity to Avoca in the late 1800s with a sense of style that combines the traditions of days gone by with a plushness that reflects the delightfully smooth and rich Cabernet within. Sam Kim, Wine Orbit, 93 Points – “The inviting bouquet shows blackcurrant, rich floral, clove and roasted nut aromas, followed by a succulent palate displaying good weight and plump mouthfeel. COLOUR: Dense plum red of good intensity, and colour cling on the swirl. NOSE: Clean developing aromas of blackcurrant, dark chocolate with a light background of toast and sweet menthol. PALATE: Clean full-bodied flavours of ripe forest berries and blackcurrants, supported by a moderate integral frame of small velvet tannins finishing with a soft cherry vapour. FOOD PAIRING: Beef Cannelloni, roasted lamb chops and vegetables, mushroom risotto, aged cheddar and blue cheeses. VINTAGE NOTES: A wet Winter recharged the soil and good Spring weather encouraged healthy growth across all varieties. A mild start to the season progressed to be a cooler than normal growing season with well-placed summer rains (before veraison). Some rain through vintage.
