Maxim M/32-33 – Finnish Heavy Machine Gun (3D Printed Model)
The Maxim M/32-33 was Finland’s improved version of the water-cooled Maxim machine gun, developed by Aimo Lahti and produced from 1933 to 1944. Built around the proven Maxim system, the Finnish M/32-33 introduced several practical upgrades, including a higher rate of fire, a muzzle booster, redesigned grips and sights, and the use of a 200-round metallic ammunition belt. One of its most distinctive Finnish features was the snow-filling cap on the water jacket. This allowed snow to be used for cooling in freezing winter conditions, reducing the need to carry water in snowy sub-zero environments. The weapon was also designed with anti-aircraft use in mind, with tripod equipment that could be adapted for that role. Our 3D printed model captures the unmistakable silhouette of the Finnish Maxim M/32-33, including the water-cooled barrel jacket, heavy receiver, tripod-mounted profile, and rugged battlefield look associated with Finland’s Winter War and Continuation War equipment. A strong display piece for collectors of Finnish military history, Second World War equipment, and iconic Nordic firearms.
