VINTAGE 1962 OMEGA 34mm CALIBRE 265 STAINLESS STEEL FULLY ORIGINAL
VINTAGE 1962 OMEGA 34mm CALIBRE 265 STAINLESS STEEL FULLY ORIGINAL. This super gentlemen’s Omega was manufactured in 1962 by the serial number 19812917 engraved on the movement. The model 121001 was introduced in 1962 so this one is right at the start of it’s production run, which was lengthy. The stainless-steel case is substantial, measuring just under 34mm across the bezel, not including the crown and 41mm tip-to-tip. The case is in good condition, with long down-turned lugs and free from any major dings or scratches. The case back fits very snugly and snaps back closed very firmly, also in good original condition with just a little very light rubbing from gentle use over the years. Housing the calibre 269 manual winding movement, the example that we have here is in very good condition, a testament to the wonderful case design which has protected it over the years. Working nicely, winding and setting as it should. The original silvered dial is very pretty, with just a little patina of age beginning to show. This is the Rolex explorer type dial with 12-3-9 applied figure and alternating baton markers, with subsidiary cross-hair. Signed simply ‘Omega’ with ‘Swiss made’ below six. We have replaced the worn leather strap with a new, quality alligator grain one.
