Without adequate cash flow, contractors and sub-contractors concerned will find themselves in a difficult situation of having to finance the electrical work on their own which may lead to delay in the work completion or extreme cases, come to a complete standstill. One way to claim the unpaid electrical work will be via the Security of Payment Act. In this regard, it is therefore important that parties should ensure that a proper payment claim/response, inter alia, is prepared with respect to the electrical work done, and settle the payment in dispute at the very first instance successfully under the Act, to avoid the risk of electrical work delay and legal proceedings, if any.
