Golden Age
The Victory Players bring a new era of contemporary classical music to Holyoke with Golden Age, a daring concert series presented in collaboration with the MIFA Victory Theatre. The evening features world premieres and adventurous new works from a lineup of visionary composers including Felipe Salles, Emily Koh, David Ibbett, Charles Shadle, and Kiegan Ryan. Guided by Music Director Tianhui Ng, the series explores stories of endurance, imagination, and cultural exchange through bold, boundary-pushing sound. Performed by the 2026 Victory Players ensemble, the concert showcases an exceptional group of musicians whose performances blur the line between chamber music and sonic expedition. Pianist Nathan Ben-Yehuda, cellist Linda Hwang, flutist Giovanni A. Pérez, percussionist Robert Rocheteau, clarinetist Eric Schultz, and violinist Samuel Vargas come together for a program that is both deeply expressive and thrillingly unpredictable. Expect shimmering textures, rhythmic intensity, and moments that feel less like a recital and more like stepping into a living, breathing sound sculpture. Set inside the former mill building turned canal-side venue De La Luz Soundstage, Golden Age offers an immersive downtown experience far beyond the concert hall. Guests can enjoy cabaret-style seating, a full bar, and food service throughout the evening, creating the perfect atmosphere for discovering adventurous new music in one of Holyoke’s most distinctive cultural spaces.
