Meyer-Näkel 2023 Spätburgunder Blauschiefer dry
Wine: The "Blauschiefer", which means 'blue slate', is an excellent example of the extraordinary combination of slate rich soil and Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) grapes. The stony soil creates a mineralic wine with fruity aromas of blackberry, blueberry, red currant and dark cherry, that is accompanied by smoky, floral and roasted notes. This dry Spätburgunder has a good substance, smooth tannins and elegance. Vineyard: The Ahr vineyard where the grapes were grown has soil rich in slate and greywacke. Vinification: The fully ripened grapes are carefully picked by hand and produced a yield of 40-45 hl/ha. The grapes are gently pressed, and the must fermentation and maceration process takes around 20 days. The wine is then matured in barriques (French oak barrels) for 11 months. Drinking recommendation: This Spätburgunder is the perfect accompaniment to poultry, light meat, pasta and mushroom dishes, as well as a spicy or grilled fish. Drinking temperature: 15-16°C Alcohol: 13,0% vol. Res. sugar: 02 g/l Acidity: 5,3 g/l
