Genuine vintage Japanese kimono. This HAORI is called “KUROMONTSUKI HAORI 黒紋付羽織” in Japan. It used to be worn as the first formal jacket for Japanese men. My proposal is to wear haori as a unisex casual fashion, different from the original way of wearing kimono. One-of-a-kind-vintage. I carefully handpicked this piece, which is in very good condition for a vintage garment. *Dated old, antique piece [Condition] The haura (inner lining) shows significant age-related deterioration. Please refer to the photos for details. The family crest has been applied on top like a sticker. This is known as a ‘hari-mon’ (applied crest). In the old days, only a few people of high status were allowed to have KAMON, but during the Meiji era (1868–1912), ordinary people were also permitted to use them. This haori family crest is called 「丸に三つ柏(まるにみつがしわ / Maruni-mitsugashiwa)」. Maruni-mitsugashiwa is a traditional family crest featuring three oak leaves arranged within a circle. The kashiwa (oak) leaf has long symbolized prosperity, family continuity, and strong familial bonds in Japan, as old leaves remain on the tree until new growth appears.
