Japanese Handmade Puzzle Box - Nested 5 Steps & 14 steps Yosegi / Ichimatsu

A puzzle within a puzzle. This puzzle box comes with a set of two. The large puzzle box opens in 5 steps, and the small inner “Mame” box opens in 14 steps. “Mame” means beans in Japanese, which shows how small it is. The larger box has a length 7.5 cm and the design include traditional Japanese marquetry, called yosegi, which is used for this particular box. The marquetry (yosegi wood mosaic) patterns of the small one are different for each puzzle box. The small one fits inside the larger box, and the lid can be closed, so it is a nested puzzle boxes set. Large box: 75 x 45 x 40 mm Small box: 43 x 30 x 27 mm Includes solution sheet
