ChongMing Coaster

This is hand spun and hand woven Chinese fabrics from the Chongming Islands. In the past it was the custom to present newlyweds with handmade fabric in honour of the weddings. This fabric was never used instead it was stored and treasured by the couple. After sanitization, these vintage pieces are transformed into coasters. There are differences on every pieces of Chongming fabric even they are in the same color, that means every piece is unique. 1.
