NVM BMW G8X Driveshaft CV Boot Heat Shields – G87 M2, G80/G81 M3 & G82/G83 M4 A simple but essential upgrade for protecting your BMW’s drivetrain during demanding road and track use. The inner rear driveshaft CV boots on the BMW G8X platform sit close to the exhaust system, where they can be exposed to significant radiant heat. Sustained high temperatures—particularly during track use or when an aftermarket exhaust or larger midpipe is fitted—can cause the factory rubber boots to harden, crack or split prematurely. Once a CV boot is damaged, grease can escape and the exposed CV joint may begin to wear. If left unresolved, this can result in expensive repairs and potential drivetrain failure. The NVM Driveshaft CV Boot Heat Shields create a protective thermal barrier between the exhaust and the vulnerable inner CV boots. Their lightweight aluminium construction helps deflect radiant heat away from the rubber boots, reducing heat exposure and helping extend the service life of critical drivetrain components. Designed as a direct bolt-on upgrade, the shields use existing mounting points and require no drilling or permanent modification.
