Aster n.b. | Professor Anton Kippenberg | Michaelmas Daisy
A popular dwarf variety, Aster novi-belgii 'Professor Anton Kippenberg has masses of beautiful blue, semidouble daisy-like flowers with narrow petals and yellow eyes. Also known as Michaelmas daisies, these plants are such a welcome addition to the late summer/autumn garden. Aster | Professor Anton Kippenberg will tolerate light shade although preferring a sunny spot with good drainage. Pinching back stems early in the growing season will help to keep the plant nice and bushy. Cut back flower stems at the end of the flowering season and occasionally you may get a few shorter stems coming on dependent upon your climate. Easily split in autumn and dividing the clumps every few years will ensure that they continue to flower prolifically. Perennial | Hardy Height 30 - 40cm x Clumping to approximately 40cm Wide Pot Size: 1 Litre P.S. These have recently changed their names from Aster to Symphyotrychum, which is much harder to say and spell! So we'll just stick with Aster for now. ๐
