Vintage metal model — Ryan NYP, N-X-211, “Spirit of St. Louis” This is a model of one of the most famous aircraft in history: the Ryan NYP (New York to Paris) flown by Charles Lindbergh on the first solo nonstop transatlantic flight in May 1927. The registration N-X-211 and “Ryan NYP” markings on the tail are clearly legible, and the fuselage also carries the name “Spirit of St. Louis.” Single-wing monoplane configuration, painted in silver-grey pressed and formed metal, accurately reflecting the appearance of the real aircraft. The high-mounted, broad-chord wing carries “N-X-211” in large black stencilled letters. A distinctive feature is the brass-toned, heavily detailed radial engine cowling with exposed cylinder castings — a notable contrast to the plain metal fuselage. The wing also features a cross-hatched cockpit window opening, consistent with the real aircraft’s famously limited forward visibility. The undercarriage has two large spoked wheels, and the two-blade propeller is intact. The tail carries the additional “N-X-211 / RYAN NYP” identification on a separate plate. 42.5cm wingspan, 32cm length, 531 grams. A well-detailed decorative model of an iconic aircraft, with good paint and casting quality and age-consistent wear throughout.
