Vintage 1940s 14K .25 carat VS1/I Old European Cut solitaire engagement ring

A 1940s engagement ring in two-tone 14K with a .25 carat Old European Cut diamond. Bridal rings post WWII generally featured two-tone gold with engraved details carried over from the 1930s, as well as modest diamonds and more austere designs. This ring is really a lovely example, with a yellow gold shank wrapping around to a white gold head and shoulders. The diamond is tucked in a square basket with fishtail corner prongs.
