Camera Model: Olympus-35 EC Serial#175241 Description: The Olympus 35 EC is an electronically controlled, ultra-compact 35mm viewfinder camera introduced by Olympus in 1969. Designed to combine the absolute pocketability of the Trip 35 with advanced automation, it stepped away from selenium meters in favour of precise, battery-powered electronic brains. Wrapped in a heavy, premium metal chassis, it is often referred to as a “Pocket Ginsu” by vintage enthusiasts for its remarkably sharp, high-contrast images. Specifications: Lens: E.Zuiko 42mm f/2.8. A premium, 5-element in 4-groups glass configuration that delivers superior sharpness and optical design compared to the standard Trip 35. Focusing: Zone manual scale focusing. Features four zone presets indicated by orange symbols on the lens barrel and matching icons in the viewfinder: Close Portrait (1m), Couple (1.5m), Group (3m), and Landscape/Mountain (Infinity). Exposure: Fully automatic, electronically programmed exposure system. The camera automatically selects the perfect combination of aperture and shutter speed based on lighting. ISO Range: Manual selection via a knurled ring on top of the lens barrel, supporting film speeds from ISO 25 to 800. Metering: A Cadmium Sulfide (CdS) light meter window located on the upper front plate. It automatically controls the electronic shutter and includes a yellow low-light warning bulb in the viewfinder when speeds drop below 1/30s. Shutter Speeds: A Seiko ESF electronic shutter providing an incredibly wide, continuous range from a blazing 1/800s down to a long 4 seconds. Flash: Features a hot shoe on the top plate and a PC sync terminal on the side. Uses a manual Guide Number calculator ring on the base of the lens barrel. A unique blue indicator light glows in the viewfinder if a flash is attached and the camera detects that ambient light is too dim. Power: Requires battery power to operate. Originally ran on two PX640 mercury batteries, supplied with Zinc Air 675 batteries and adapter spacer. Condition: Good, batteries and battery adapters included.
