The Bite N’ Run system allows fish to pick up and move off with the bait while experiencing very little line tension, giving the angler more time to prepare before engaging the main drag and setting the hook. The Free Swimmer BR is the result of five years of development involving Daiwa USA, Daiwa Australia, Daiwa New Zealand and Daiwa’s Japanese engineering team. Developed with the demands of local fishing conditions in mind, it combines practical bait-fishing performance with Daiwa's latest reel technologies. The result is a powerful and dependable Bite N’ Run reel designed for serious saltwater anglers. The reel features a robust carbon composite body and Air Rotor, providing a strong yet well-balanced platform. Daiwa has also incorporated strategically positioned rubber seals throughout the reel to help protect the internal components from saltwater intrusion, making the Free Swimmer BR well suited to demanding marine environments. Bite N’ Run Designed specifically for live and dead bait fishing, the Bite N’ Run system allows a fish to take the bait with minimal resistance from the reel. The independently adjustable rear drag lets you fine-tune the amount of tension to suit different fishing situations, helping create the ideal conditions for a confident hook set. Air Rotor The Air Rotor is designed to reduce weight while improving balance, sensitivity and rotational smoothness. Constructed from lightweight Zaion material, its redesigned rotor profile transfers pressure toward the lower section, reducing unnecessary flex and stress. The hollow construction further reduces weight while helping create a smooth and balanced rotation. ATD System Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag (ATD) system is engineered to provide smoother drag performance from the moment a fish takes the bait. Specially formulated drag grease remains low in viscosity when the drag is stationary before increasing in viscosity as the drag begins to operate. Combined with the redesigned drag structure, this helps minimise initial start-up resistance and delivers a more consistent drag response.
