Turkana jewel cichlid 5-6cm

Turkana jewel cichlid is a striking freshwater cichlid prized for its vibrant coloration and engaging personality. At 5-6cm, this juvenile specimen is ideal for establishing in a well-planted aquarium of 60 liters or larger. Known for their jewel-like iridescent markings and territorial behavior, Turkana jewels thrive in warm, slightly acidic water (24-28°C, pH 6.0-7.0). They are omnivorous and will readily accept quality cichlid pellets, frozen foods, and live prey. Best kept singly or in pairs with compatible tank mates, as males can be aggressive during breeding. Provide caves, driftwood, and plants for shelter and territory definition. A mature, well-maintained aquarium with regular water changes supports their long-term health and color development. Suitable for intermediate aquarists with cichlid experience.
