Tephrocactus Articulatus var. Papyracanthus (Paper Spine Cactus)

Tephrocactus Articulatus var. Papyracanthus, commonly known as the Paper Spine Cactus, is a rare and highly collectible cactus native to Argentina. It is prized for its unusual, flattened papery spines that resemble delicate strips of paper or fingernails, giving the plant a striking sculptural appearance unlike any other cactus. Its segmented, pine cone-like stems grow upright when young and gradually branch to form an attractive clump over time. The papery spines are surprisingly soft to the touch and serve as protection from the harsh desert sun rather than as sharp defensive spines.
