As the light hits the opal's surface, its translucent-clear surface gleams cleanly with multicolor diffraction, segregated into three distinct natural sectors; orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple slide across these sectors, morphing into one another, creating a phenomenon similar to what's observed when viewing the back of a CD or DVD. Cut in Michael's private lapidary studio, the raw opal rough was sourced directly from Australia. The ring is made of pure .999 silver, crafted from an a silver bar. Imperfections along the silver ring's surface are the direct result of small-batch, homemade silversmithing—a testament that independent American jewelry manufacturing is still alive and growing.
