2024 Cellier de la Baraterie Maceration

Place: Savoie, France Variety: Jacquere, Chardonnay Farming: Organic Julien Viana is the young vigneron behind Cellier de la Baraterie, farming just a stone's throw from where he was born in the heart of Savoie. Working with native varieties and a hands-off philosophy, he crafts vibrant, soulful wines that capture the freshness and alpine character of the region. This orange wine is predominantly Jacquere, fermented as whole bunches with 15 days on skins before resting without additions or sulphur. Aromatic and wonderfully alive, it layers citrus peel, mountain herbs and orchard fruit over gentle tannins and a savoury, tea-like grip. Bright, textural and effortlessly drinkable, it's a fresh take on one of Savoie's most traditional grapes.
