Pataua Bowl - Preciosa

The Patauá Bowl is a full, rounded form that settles heavy in the hand, balanced on a discreet base, its centre open in a deep recess. It comes from a single block of rare Amazonian hardwood, the kind a tree takes decades to form, shaped by hand on the lathe. It is a vide-poche for keys, rings and a watch. In the entryway, on a living room sideboard, atop a bedroom dresser or on the kitchen counter, holding spices, lemons and a few figs, it finds its place and stays, never ceasing to look like sculpture.
