NPX BioPellets Julian Sprung 200L ( 50 Gal )
Two Little Fishies NPX Bioplastics (Julian Sprung) are biodegradable polymer pellets designed to naturally reduce nitrate (NO₃) and phosphate (PO₄) in marine aquariums. The pellets provide a continuous carbon source that feeds beneficial bacteria. As the bacteria grow, they consume nitrate and phosphate, then are exported by your protein skimmer or become food for filter-feeding corals, clams, sponges, and feather dusters. Key benefits: Naturally lowers nitrate and phosphate. Reduces nuisance algae caused by excess nutrients. Encourages beneficial bacterial growth. Provides an additional food source for filter-feeding invertebrates. Slowly dissolves over time, requiring only periodic replenishment. How to use: Best used in a fluidized reactor (such as a PhosBan Reactor) so the pellets tumble gently. Use with a protein skimmer, which is essential for exporting the bacteria and nutrients. Start with half the recommended amount if your nutrients are high, then gradually increase over several weeks to reduce the risk of a bacterial bloom. Top off the pellets every 3–6 months as they are consumed. If you’re running a reef tank, NPX Bioplastics are an excellent option for maintaining low nutrients, but they should be introduced gradually and monitored with regular nitrate and phosphate testing to avoid stripping nutrients too quickly.
