Plum Blossom Wine Cup — Hand-Painted Porcelain A hand-painted porcelain wine cup featuring red plum blossoms and a trailing vine, finished with a clear glaze inside and out. Equally suited to a pour of wine or a small everyday drink. This design has been part of my practice for over 12 years, evolving slowly with each version. The most recent rendition shifted the vine from green to black and added larger flower buds — a simplification that really lets the color pop, and a quiet, ongoing conversation with a pattern I keep coming back to. Hand-painted plum blossom design: Once fully dry, the red plum blossom and trailing vine motif is hand-painted onto the piece, with black outlines defining each bud. Glaze & firing: A red slip is applied to the interior, then a clear glaze finishes the cup inside and out, followed by firing in an electric oxidation kiln. Made by hand in small batches in my Denver studio — no AI, no mass production, just one potter and 12 years of practice behind every brushstroke.
