This is where training becomes something more. Les Émeraudes is Gemmez’s competitive rhythmic gymnastics program for athletes ready to move beyond weekly classes and begin training with greater purpose, consistency and ambition. Five hours of training each week allow our gymnasts to develop in a way that is simply not possible in a recreational program. They have the time to refine their technique, strengthen their bodies, master their apparatus and build complete routines designed for competition. They do not only learn new skills. They learn how to repeat them with precision, perform them under pressure and continue working until every detail becomes stronger. A Complete Competitive Program Throughout the season, each gymnast develops the essential components of competitive rhythmic gymnastics: Body difficulties, including balances, pivots, leaps and flexibility Technique with rope, hoop, ball, clubs and ribbon Apparatus handling, coordination and control Individual and group routine preparation Artistry, musical interpretation and performance quality Strength, endurance and physical preparation Confidence, discipline and resilience in a competitive environment Every training session has a purpose. Each correction, repetition and routine is designed to move the athlete forward. Ballet Is Built Into the Training Weekly ballet training takes place every Thursday at Westwood Junior Gym and is an integral part of the program. Ballet develops the posture, body lines, extension, control and musicality that elevate a routine from technically correct to truly polished. It is one of the most important foundations of a strong rhythmic gymnast and a visible part of what distinguishes a competitive performance. From Training Floor to Competition Floor The season is built toward competition. Gymnasts learn how to prepare a routine, perform in front of judges, manage nerves and represent their team with confidence and professionalism. They experience the pride of wearing their competitive leotard, stepping onto the floor and seeing the result of months of focused work come together in one performance. A Small Team. Detailed Coaching. Meaningful Progress. The program is led by Maori Murciano, founder and head coach of Académie d’Excellence Gemmez, a former international rhythmic gymnast who was selected for her national team’s group and competed in international competitions including Grand Prix and World Cup. Athletes benefit from coaching shaped by firsthand experience at the highest levels of the sport, while training in a supportive environment that values confidence, resilience, discipline and long-term development. Included in the Program Five hours of structured training each week Weekly ballet training Routine creation and preparation Technical development with all five apparatus Physical preparation and flexibility training Competition preparation Coaching and athlete support at competitions Additional Competitive Expenses The following are not included in tuition: Competitive Gymnastique Québec affiliation Competitive apparatuses and training equipment Competition registration fees Competitive leotard Transportation and travel expenses, when applicable Families will always receive the details and cost of each event before participation is confirmed.
