Afghan handmade carpets are increasingly well-regarded. This market has grown quickly in recent years, emphasising higher-quality knotting and Pakistan's influence in many finishing processes, such as initial tensioning to correct alignment issues when the weaver has drifted the wefts, causing the pattern to run out.
