Ease to Grow: Easy Dormancy: No Native Range: SE. Asia and N. Australia Zones: 8-11 (6-12) Utricularia involvens is a medium size, perennial bladderwort that is easy to grow. In its native habitat it can be found growing in the soil of boggy grasslands. In cultivation, it prefers sandy peat that is constantly moist with occasional flooding. It has small lance shaped leaves. The tiny bladder traps form in the soil, and catch small critters, like ciliates and nematodes. The flowers are bright yellow with a pronounced orange central marking. It flowers in the Spring and occasionally in the Fall. Our plants are from divisions originally from Gunung Jerai, Malaysia. It is great in a terrarium, and does well in the window and greenhouse.
