Domaine de la Fontainerie 2000 Sec "Le C" AOC Vouvray 1500mL

The "Le C" line of wines from Domaine de La Fontainerie are made from a blend of grapes hand picked from across the estate vineyards, and vinified in barrels of with 1-3 years of age. Once bottled, the wine rests in the ancient limestone caves of the estate until we place our order with Catherine. This wine is a dry "sec" style. With more than 2 decades of age, it has taken on a nutty, cheesy, sherry-like character. It is delicious at the end of a meal with a cheese plate. In Magnum format it's perfect for a large gathering, but beware it's available only in very limited quantities with just 6 bottles imported to Australia.
