A Syrah that is medium-bodied, with aromas of red plum and darker berries and elements of subtle ripe Syrah spice. The bright palate offers ripe and juicy red fruit and has quite approachable tannins. This great expression of cool climate Syrah that is medium-bodied, full of flavour, silky tannins that make it ready to drink now and well into the future. Vineyard notes: The grapes for this Syrah come from three of our long-certified biodynamic vineyards. The Iluma Vineyard, facing west at an altitude of 420m, is home to our prized Iluma Syrah. The Summit Vineyard faces east, while the Rufus Vineyard faces west. Ngeringa has maintained a chemical-free approach—using no pesticides, synthetic fertilisers, or insecticides—dating back to 1980. Winemaking: This wine is a blend of 5 smaller batches of Syrah, of which 90 percent of the grapes were de-stemmed, natural fermentation, gentle extraction with daily plunging or pump-overs and only 10 to 14 days on skins.
