ZIYUN Oriental Indigo Blue Lacquer Cabinet c.1920

Rich in colour and traditional Chinese character, the ZIYUN Antique Chinese Cabinet dates from around 1920 and originates from Shanxi Province. Crafted from Chinese pine, its deep indigo blue lacquer has developed a wonderful timeworn finish, with hints of the natural wood showing through along the edges, adding warmth and individuality to this lovely antique piece. The cabinet features two drawers above a double-door cupboard, complete with traditional metal handles and simple panelled detailing. Its beautifully aged lacquer and compact proportions give it a relaxed, understated appeal that works equally well in contemporary and traditional interiors. A versatile piece of oriental furniture, the ZIYUN is ideal as a bedside cabinet, hallway cupboard or occasional storage in a living room. Style it with a table lamp, a favourite ceramic vase or a collection of books to create a welcoming corner. The deep indigo blue looks particularly lovely alongside natural woods, warm neutrals and soft greens, while its rustic finish brings a little history and authentic Chinese craftsmanship into the home.
