John Duval, Plexus Shiraz, Grenache, Mourvedre 2021
Dark, intense and peppery… need I say much more! Again, the balance of fruit, alcohol and acidity is awesome as whilst this wine is 14.5% vol., you wouldn’t know as it’s so fresh and inviting like a velvet glove. There is an abundance of savoury spice, fine, soft tannins and bright acidity, ensuring a long and pure finish. A portion of the Grenache ferment included whole bunches, to accentuate the savoury aspects of the variety. The wines were matured in barrel, partly in new fine grain French oak (8-9% new oak) hogsheads (500 litres) and the remainder in older seasoned hogsheads. 14.5% vol.
