Trematic T-Five Beigua Maris — Desert
The T-Five is a 300m diver in grade 5 titanium, and it measures 39mm across with a 45.5mm lug-to-lug, the same lug-to-lug as Trematic's Archivio Uno dress watch. Trematic named it after the coast below Monte Beigua in Liguria, an area with one of Europe's largest titanium reserves. Maris is Latin for "of the sea", and T-Five stands for the grade 5 titanium the case is cut from. The brand started in Switzerland in the early 1950s, went quiet in the 1980s when the quartz crisis hit, and came back in 2022, and the T-Five followed in November 2025. The Desert has a beige dial with bezel markings in a matching colour, applied wedge-shaped markers and Trematic's own Arabic numerals. I think it is the warmest of the three colourways, and the easiest to wear with brown leather or suede, even though it ships on black rubber. The lume on the dial, hands and bezel glows green in the dark. The bezel turns one way in 120 clicks, with a matte ceramic insert in a titanium ring and lume at every five minutes. The crystal is a domed sapphire coated with three layers of anti-reflective treatment on each side, the hexagonal crown screws down, and the solid caseback has the Trematic logo in relief. The movement is the La Joux-Perret G101, a Swiss automatic at 28,800 vph with 24 jewels and a 68-hour power reserve, so it will still be running after a full weekend off the wrist. Two FKM rubber straps come with it, a black hybrid with waterproof fabric bonded to the outside and a titanium deployant clasp, and a beige tropic-style strap with a sandblasted pin buckle. Both taper from 20mm at the lugs to 18mm at the buckle and use quick-release pins, so changing straps needs no tools. The case is 13.8mm tall including the domed crystal, though 11.3mm without it. I am an authorised Trematic dealer, and this one is new and unworn, supplied direct by Trematic. It comes with Trematic's five-year warranty from the date of purchase, and the photos are of this exact watch. Included: the watch on its black FKM hybrid strap, the beige tropic-style strap, the Trematic presentation box, the certificate of authenticity, the warranty card and the operating instructions.
