VINTAGE 1920’s GENTLEMEN’s LARGE .925 SILVER ART-DECO TANK WATCH SUPERB ORIGINAL CONDITION. This exceptionally stylish gentlemen’s wristwatch was manufactured in 1920’s and is quintessentially art-deco. The wonderful .925 sterling silver case has all of the features that you want in a 1920’s piece. The very large ‘tank’ case is curved to the wrist. With elaborate floral engraving to the sides, the watch measures 26mm across, not including the crown and 39mm tip-to-tip. The original un-signed silvered dial with subsidiary seconds has large elaborate art-deco style figures, typical of the period. The original blued steel hands are in excellent condition, with no rust. The very, very good quality 15 jewel movement looks to be in sound condition, considering that it is around one hundred years old. Runs strongly, winds and sets as it should. The case back opens on a hinge, which is in perfect order & is stamped to the outer with English hallmarks, though they are worn due to use and we cant quite pick out the date. The watch is in first-class original condition throughout, though the winding crown looks to have been replaced at some point. An exceptional, very large art-deco tank watch in superb order. We have fitted a new, quality alligator-grain strap to this one for the buyer.
