Eldora – A Textile Owl Sculpture

Eldora is a Textile Owl Sculpture. Eldora has a wandering soul. Her thoughtful gaze exudes an aura of magic and a wisdom as old as the stars. She observes with the quiet certainty of a being that has already travelled countless planes of existence. not really of this world, but watching over it with a gentle and affectionate curiosity. She is hand stitched using reclaimed textiles including worn denim, printed linens in varying weights, loose weave cotton, printed velvet, Teal Green Jonelle 1970’s WIlliam Morris ‘Wey’ Fabric, dyed silks, Bansari brocade and chiffons. Her chest is adorned with hand embroidered feathers in cotton and gold threads. She has handmade amber glass eyes with black pupils. She stands atop a lathe-turned wooden base. Merope measures 22 cm tall including the wooden base. The base is 9.5cm in diameter.
