The Boat The Sirona sits in the most useful part of the size spectrum — short enough to surf, rock hop, and manoeuvre without drama; long enough to hold speed and carry overnight kit. When it launched in 2015 it immediately found an audience: most testers noted it combined the versatility of the Avocet with a more playful personality closer to the Pintail, without sacrificing hull speed. The composite Sirona is available in three sizes — 15-10, 16-1, and 16-4 — covering paddlers from 40 kg to 135 kg. All three share the same hull character: rockered, edge-responsive, skeg-dependent in wind, and fast for their length. The size differences adjust volume, cockpit dimensions, and depth to match the paddler rather than changing how the boat behaves. It is not an expedition kayak in the traditional sense. What it does is reward paddlers who want to be active on the water — edging, surfing, exploring — while still being practical for the overnight trips and coastal crossings that make up most people's actual paddling.
