It is not a trial lesson or flight training. Passengers will not be instructed in taking control of the aircraft, and the flight cannot be counted towards a pilot’s licence. If you would like to handle the controls, please book a trial lesson instead – 1st Lesson to becoming a pilot. The flight will depart from and return to the same aerodrome and will operate by day under Visual Flight Rules. The pilot may change or cancel it, including at short notice, for safety or operational reasons. Introductory Experience flights are not required to meet the same regulations as commercial air transport (airlines) flights. Regulatory information relating to the conduct of this flight can be found in the UK CAA document CAP 3296, downloadable here: CAP 3296 – Flying in General Aviation Aircraft Passenger numbers and weight The aircraft can carry up to three participants, subject to the aircraft’s weight and balance, performance and seating limitations. If only one passenger is enrolled in this flight then we may elect to conduct the flight in a 2 seat aircraft. We will ask each participant to provide an accurate weight before the flight. This information is necessary to complete the aircraft’s legally required weight-and-balance and performance calculations. The final number of participants who can be carried is determined by Norwich Aviation Centre and the pilot in command. It may be necessary to reduce the number of participants where the aircraft’s operating limitations require it or weights are not accurate on the day of the flight. Where a flight is cancelled because incorrect weights were provided by you then we may have to cancel the flight without refund. We may at our discretion offer a flight with reduced numbers of people onboard where reasonable and practicable to do so on the day. An introduction to recreational flying This flight is intended to introduce participants to the experience of flying in a light aircraft. It is an introductory flight and not a trial flying lesson. Participants are carried as passengers and will not be permitted to handle the aircraft controls unless an instructor is your pilot. The flight cannot be recorded or credited as flight training towards the grant of a pilot licence. If you would like to receive instruction and handle the aircraft controls, please book our “1st Lesson to becoming a pilot” trial lesson instead. This is always conducted by a qualified flight instructor and is operated separately from our introductory experience flights. Routing The route shown or described is indicative only and is not guaranteed. The pilot in command remains responsible for the aircraft, route and conduct of the flight at all times. The route may be changed, shortened or omitted before or during the flight because of: Weather conditions; Air traffic control restrictions; Aircraft performance or weight and balance; Temporary or restricted airspace; Military activity around Sculthorpe or other airfields and operaitonal areas Security restrictions around Sandringham or other areas Safety or other operational considerations. The pilot may postpone or cancel the flight at short notice and is under no obligation to complete the indicative route or fly over any particular landmark however, we will always try to meet any requests for flyovers were such locations are safe and within the above restrictions.
